Category 5e – Used for LAN network support upto 1000Mbits/s (1GB)
Category 6 – Offers better levels of performance Cat 6 features more stringent specifications for crosstalk and system noise. The cable standard provides performance of up to 250 MHz and is suitable for 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX (Fast Ethernet), 1000BASE-T/1000BASE-TX (Gigabit Ethernet) and 10GBASE-T (10-Gigabit Ethernet).
Category 6a - The latest standard from the TIA for enhanced performance standards for twisted pair cable systems was defined in February 2009 in ANSI/TIA-568-C.1. Category 6a is defined at frequencies up to 500 MHz—twice that of Cat. 6.
Category 7 – Is a fully shielded system that can provide more than twice the bandwidth of Category 6 cabling.
Structured cabling is governed by Industry Standards, one of which limits the length of a cable run (up to 90 metres). Where installations have the potential to run over this length limit then Fibre Optic cable may be chosen. We have the experience to provide competitive structured cabling solutions in all locations, from Offices to New Buildings. Our Technicians are all Police Vetted, and carry CSCS and IPAF certification. We also supply Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) for all work we carry out and have achieved Safecontractor and BS EN ISO 9001:2008 accreditation, and hold Security Contractors Insurance Cover in compliance with the NSI Code of Practice.
Your network cabling infrastructure is more important than ever; not only does it provide the steadfastedness for all your IT networking requirements, it is also now required to run Network Video Systems, Telephone Systems, Security Systems, Building Management Systems and many other IP functions and building management systems. We’ve been providing cabling infrastructures for over 20 years, so you can benefit from the extensive knowledge we have gained designing and delivering scalable, cost-effective data network cabling solutions . The performance of our structured cabling is defined by “categories” shown below:
